He Taonga Te Reo - Language is a treasure

Our final Wellington Social Change Collective event for 2020 on Tuesday the 8th of December at the Creative HQ Event Hub.

The presence of Te Reo Māori in the daily life of average New Zealanders in changing. There is still progress to be made, but a recent shift in the use and appreciation of Te Reo Māori is bringing Māori heritage and culture to the forefront of Aotearoa.

We were incredibly grateful to be joined by two fantastic speakers:

Joan Costello, Māori Language Consultant and Director of Te Reo Tūhono Ltd

A big thank you to our sponsors Zambrero & Skinny Fizz

Takeaway actions from this discussion:

- Download the Māori Dictionary either as an App on your phone, or use the web version

- Download our 'Meri Kirihimete' Poster for your fridge to integrate some festive Māori phrases into your vocabulary over the festive season
