A platform to connect people with social issues to facilitate positive change
Who is the Social Change Collective?
The Social Change Collective was formed in 2017 by a group of young Wellingtonians who wanted to be more informed of social issues and wanted to work together to create actionable solutions. The committee of eight people consists of lawyers, pharmacists, policy analysts and entrepreneurs. They see the potential in their peers to engage with the range of issues facing the world today.
How do we operate?
Every second month we run an event on a particular social issue, ending with a list of “actions” for attendees to sign up to.

Are we there yet?
Gender equality: its forever topical, but is it ever progressing?
Join us at our first event of 2020 where we look at the conscious and unconscious biases that continue to exist in the New Zealand workplace, perpetuating gender-based inequity and inequality.
We will be joined by a panel of speakers including Sonja Randhawa, Wellington branch president of the National Council of Women New Zealand, Pia Steiner, inclusion and diversity manager at Kiwibank, Andrew Weaver, challenging the status-quo in workplace leadership (and executive director of Digital Identity NZ), and Rebecca Matthews, recently elected Wellington City Councillor and previous equity campaigner at education union NZEI.
